Dawn of Dystopia – Season 1 Episode Guide
Episode 1: Mutant Awakening
In a post-apocalyptic world where experiments with genetics gave birth to humans with animal features, Oscar half squirrel; Riley, half rhino; and Will, half gorilla, manage to escape from the lab. Persecuted by the villainous biotech company Genex, they flee into the ruins of New Chicago. As they strive to master these newfound abilities, they receive word from a rebellion who claims they can tell them where they originated. When the enforcers from Genex catch up with them, the three have to fight or be taken prisoner. With Oscar's agility, Riley's brute strength, and Will's intelligence, they barely manage to get away. But where to now? And can they even trust the rebels?
Episode 2: The Underground
After tracing the rebels' signal, Oscar, Riley, and Will find refuge in the Undercity,a hidden network of tunnels that shelters other hybrids who have escaped. They are led by the cunning fox-hybrid Nova, who details a plan of Genex in harvesting hybrid DNA for super soldiers. As Will bonds with a young hybrid girl, Oscar's suspicion grows regarding Nova's true motive. Meanwhile, Riley struggles to control his out of bounds strength, thus putting them at risk. After being tipped by a traitor in their ranks, Genex launches an assault on Undercity. The trio barely escapes but manages to find out in the process an astonishing secret: Nova used to work with Genex. Can they still trust her now?
Episode 3: Fractured Loyalties
Tensions rise as Oscar pushes to leave Nova and the rebels behind, while Will believes they need allies. Riley is torn between the two as she tries to keep the group together. While scavenging for supplies, they discover a decaying Genex laboratory filled with mutant hybrid experiments in various grotesque, half-created stages. Only one experiment is alive-a wolf-hybrid named Kane. He warns them of "Project Genesis," a plan by Genex to reset the entire course of hybrid evolution. Before they can wrap their minds around this, Genex drones invade, and they are forced to escape. Kane joins them, but Oscar isn't convinced he's to be trusted. Is Kane truly an ally or another threat?
Episode 4: Shadows of the Past
Hiding in a ruined research facility, Oscar discovers files on their origins-revealing that they weren't just experiments but designed for a specific purpose. Each of them has unique genetic modifications, making them part of a bigger, mysterious plan. Meanwhile, Riley starts to experience strange visions hinting at suppressed memories. The team then has to go into dangerous rescue after Genex soldiers capture Will. Shockingly, Oscar and Riley learn through the mission that Will was, in fact, the first successful hybrid soldier from Genex, but he managed to escape before they could program him fully. Or so he thought. Has he really gained freedom from them?
Episode 5: Betrayal Within
Will grapples with this revelation of his past as he believes he might still be a pawn for Genex while Oscar and Riley track down an old scientist who once worked on the hybrid program. She drops the bomb-Genex implanted a failsafe in their DNA to make them controllable. Just as this is being digested, Kane turns on them, revealing he's still working for Genex. The scientist gets killed in the tussle, and Riley is taken hostage. As Oscar and Will barely make their escape, they realize the worst part of it-that failsafe may well have been activated by now, which would mean any of them could turn against the rest.
Episode 6: Breaking Chains
In their most daring move yet to save Riley and destroy the failsafe, Oscar and Will hatch a bold plan to infiltrate the main facility of Genex. Meanwhile, as the scientists of Genex trigger his genetic control, Riley is fighting his captors. Nova arrives unexpectedly with a rebel strike team, showing she has been working against Genex from inside. In the climactic battle, Oscar uses his speed and cunning to disable the failsafe system while Will confronts Kane in a brutal fight. Riley, regaining control, turns against his captors. They manage to escape but not before they find out that Genex has already started mass-producing hybrids-an army designed to wipe them out.
Episode 7: Dawn of the Revolution
With Genex's hybrid army now on the move, Oscar, Riley, and Will must rally the scattered rebels for a last stand. As the battle commences, Will taps into his past training to outmaneuver the forces of Genex, while Riley uses his brute strength to crush their strongest opponents. Oscar sneaks into the control tower, facing off against Genex's CEO-a cold, calculating scientist who reveals to him the hybrids' true purpose: to replace humanity itself. Oscar makes a daring choice: to sabotage the entire facility. As explosions tear through the lab, the trio barely escapes. But as the dust settles, they realize-this was only the beginning.
